A Better Way To…

WawaAutumnDrinks2

Way back in time, I wrote about Wawa, and all the goodness that it brings.   Kids of all ages that have ever visited one of their stores (locations can be found herelocations can be found here) or heard about one, know of the aura that Wawa has.  There’s no overstating this, I find happiness here, that I don’t find just anywhere.  And there’s happiness to be found anywhere and everywhere…

WawaMenu

I would have to give myself enough time to write about every tea, coffee, latte, and everything in between that Wawa has to offer.  And that’s just counting for the fall season, let alone everything else.  The photo above is just the beginning, and everything else is great too.  Yes, this story will be loaded with heavy biases, and I’m proud of that fact.

On average I’m here at least five times a week.  That isn’t an exaggeration.  I’m fortunate to be near a half-dozen or so stores/filling stations just within driving distance, and many more in the area, that I’m never without my Wawa.

Three plus years was way too long to get back to talking about one of the best places in the whole wide world, so let’s get to it…

WawaHotPumpkinSpiceChaiTea

The Hot Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea is more on the lighter side, and that’s just the way I wanted it.  In many past stories I’ve elaborated on why I feel this can be too rich and too aggressive for my tastes.  As we approach comfort food, comfort drink, and comfort everything this season, a little richness never hurt anybody.  But when it comes to chai I want it light, I always want it light, and I want it just like this.

What’s beautiful about the drink choices (and pretty much most of the food choices as well…) is that it’s built to order at your fingertips.  I know a lot of places have instituted this, but I would like to think Wawa was first, and the greatest of all time.  I warned you about biases!

WawaMilkChoices

You have your options of milk and whether or not you want whip cream.   Their recommendations are shown to you, but you can come up with whatever makes you happy.  Almond milk makes he happy. Yay!  With the chai I kept it real simple as opposed too…

WawaIcedPumpkinMapleHarvestLatte2

The Iced Pumpkin Maple Harvest Latte is full on commotion and chaos, no not really, it’s a heavy drink.  I got it iced and with whip cream on top.  And if you think I finished this one in one setting, you would be right.  Actually no, this one took a long time and my stomach said no thank you.  But the truth is, it’s good, but it’s not for everyone.

Maple has somewhat caught up to pumpkin in terms of all the fall concoctions that you can make out of these two autumnal entities (not sure it that made sense).   This isn’t a knock on the drink at all.  I ordered this deliberately to counterbalance the chai tea.

WawaAutumnDrinks

While I like it, and it’s not necessarily for me, it easily could be something you will enjoy.  I’m all about trying something different.  And their menu has something available for all to enjoy.

WawaTeas

I love Wawa.  Wait, did I already say that?  But it’s the truth.  Since the first time I set foot into one up to earlier today, I always enjoy a visit.  I get excited when I drive past one or a see a sign on the highway for one of my favorite places.  I still get the warm and fuzzies, and feel like a kid in this store.  And this is before I even walk in.

These warm feelings of love are heightened as we are officially (maybe?) into the fall beverage season, and fully appreciate right now and what’s to come.

I look forward with what’s to come, but for now, I love Wawa.  Always have and always will.

Peace Be With You.

It’s a Summer Fest!

I can’t go the whole Summer without taking about one of the greatest places on the planet.

Wawa has brought me happiness for so many years.  And today I realized I hadn’t done their flavorful iced teas this season.

And I go here on a regular basis.  And when I mean regular basis, I mean almost everyday.   What’s the opposite of taking something for granted?  Well hopefully that’s my relationship with Wawa.  I love this place and I feel the love back.

Hoagiefest

And speaking of love it’s Hoagiefest.  It’s one of the many and unlimited reasons I love this season. And it’s an event I always look forward to.  And their hoagies have always resonated with me.  Not only do they taste great but I always believe the soul and feeling behind is usually a good one.  I just don’t mean the person fixing it up themselves.  That’s one thing.  But I also mean the spirit of the franchise itself.

So during this fiesta, the food and everything else takes on a life of its own.

2For2

In regards to the teas, I’ve always enjoyed their peach iced teas along with their half tea and half juice creations.   During the indoor festival other items are sold at lower prices, including many cold drinks! So with that I grabbed a couple of others I’ve never had, for this review.

WawaTeas

The diet raspberry tastes very light, hence being a diet drink.  It’s a very refreshing and tasty beverage.  This is not only for this year but I feel this can be drank all year round.

The blackberry is very sweet and since it’s a regular beverage is quite the dichotomy from the aforementioned diet raspberry.   It’s a unique taste but maybe a bit too rich for me. The higher sugar content would likely steer me away from trying this again anytime soon.   This wasn’t a favorite of mine. In the photo you can see it has a stronger shade or tint than the raspberry.

TeasWithHoagiePreMeal

I am really digging the raspberry tea.  And it paired well with a succulent oven-roasted turkey and swiss hoagie on their fresh baked whole wheat bread   What a great complement to one another!

ReadyToMange

And from complements to compliments, I can’t praise Wawa enough.  I will throw them all the superlatives and support that I can. They were just named the best convenience store in the United States.

One of the my great joys of these postings is when I see these companies show their support for the community.  If

As of this writing, Hoagiefest runs for a couple of more weeks.  If you’re fortunate to be in an area where there’s a store nearby, I’d definitely check it out!

For my previous post on their hot teas, click here.

I think I will write about a few more of their iced and bottle teas this Summer.  They’re that meaningful and significant to me they deserve multiple posts.

Thanks so much.

Gotta Have A

wawagreentea

Wawa is known for so many happy things on Earth.    I have been a fan, since I first visited one outside of Philadelphia, in 2000.   Just about all of their stores I’ve visited have had a strong energy, and a sense of community. Many I’ve seen have a strong sense of community and is a meeting place for locals, pals, and friends of from nearby towns of neighborhoods.   The coziness is endearing.    They have great coffee, but I love them for their tea.

And I love them for their hoagies, smoothies, soups, salads, sides, and of course the soft pretzels.   But, their tea has evolved into something delicious.   For years, I didn’t even know they carried their own teas.

I did some research about where they get their teas from, and I got nothing.   Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be.  I should just enjoy their teas for what they are.  No over-the-top flavors, additions, or gimmicks.

I love their green tea.  Ingredients : green tea.

The added experience that it’s from Wawa, might make it taste even better. But it’s tremendous.  I usually enjoy it by itself.  But they have plenty of breakfast hoagies, bagels, pastries, and scrambled egg dishes to complement it with.  And I’ve indulged in them all pals.

Look at that awesome selection :

wawateas

At certain locations I have had their Chamomile, which is a flavor that has grown on me.  The staples are there – Earl Grey, Regular Black, and Lemon.   Along with the aforementioned Chamomile, you might see Decaf, Ginger Peach, among some other charming flavors.   I am a big fan of the Lemon.  The flavors are parallel to their iced teas.   These teas are not glamorous. I don’t think Wawa intended them to be.   They’re just great and that’s all you can ask for.  I swear I’ve seen an Orange tea in a store somewhere.

Next time you stop into your local Wawa, give the tea a shot.  It’s one of the reasons I look forward to going to their stores now, along with the sentimentality and convenient food choices.   Happy sipping!
